Casa África presents the fifth edition of its essay contest, an international competition that this time will focus on the challenges and opportunities for African urban development.

The jury especially valued the contribution it makes to knowledge by the creative and creative use of ITC by African civil societies and to their contribution in the continent's democratisation

Essays must be original, unpublished and they must not have won any prizes or be pending the final ruling in other events or competitions

Professor Miguel Ángel Martín López  from the University of Sevilla carried out  work on African agriculture, its present and its challenges

Miguel Ángel Martín López is the author of the work that contextualises and explains the agricultural sector in the African continent.

The author of Ramata and La vida en espiral (Life in a Spiral) will participate in Casa África´s Letras Africanas (African Letters) programme on the 14th and 15th of October in Salamanca and León.

La institución presenta dos títulos en el SILA: la primera traducción al español de África debe unirse, de Kwame Nkrumah, y Cinematografías de África, de Guadalupe Arensburg. Además, Letras Africanas presentará al sudafricano Achmat Dangor.

Casa África presentará los Premios de Ensayo Casa África 2009 ante los medios de comunicación mañana martes, 28 de julio, a las 12.00 horas. El acto, que tendrá lugar en la sede de la institución en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, contará con la presencia del director general de Casa África, Ricardo Martínez.

La obra reúne los tres ensayos ganadores en la primera convocatoria de los Premios de Ensayo Casa África y que firman Gustau Nerín, Óscar Mateos Martín y Vicente J. Montes Gan y Eva Media Moral.
