Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
Casa África's Diplomatic Council, composed of the diplomatic representatives of the African continent in Spain, met this morning at the Palacio de Viana, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, chaired by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ignacio Ybáñez, and Casa Africa's Director General, Luis Padrón. The Council had the attendance and active participation of ambassadors and representatives of 23 African embassies and a large delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by Deputy Director General of Public Diplomacy, Ricardo Diez-Hochleitner, and the Director General for the Maghreb, Africa, Mediterranean and Middle East, Manuel Gomez-Acebo. This is the seventh meeting of the Diplomatic Council, which is always around 25th May, Africa Day, and is an event that usually serves as a meeting point and working forum in which the lines of collaboration between Casa África and the embassies of African countries in our country are agreed.
The Diplomatic Council gives the starting signal for Africa Day celebrations that Casa África organises each year under the brand Africa Vive.
África Vive is a Casa África initiative which was created with the vocation of using this celebration of 25th May as an excuse to get to know ourselves better and to bring African and Spanish people nearer in a leisure and participative context.
