Casa Africa participates in the presentation of the 'Platform' programme

19/06/2014

Casa África's Director General, Luis Padrón, today participated in the presentation of the Platforma programme held in the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, within the 1st Intercontinental Business Opportunities Forum held these days in the capital cities of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. The forum began yesterday at the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and was represented by Casa África too, thanks to the presence at the event of the institution's General Secretary, Arianne Hernandez. Luis Padrón explained this morning that this programme is another example of the dynamism with which the Canary Islands and Spanish companies are acting to proceed towards their internationalisation in Africa, a continent which increases and in some countries "increases a lot" and requires the knowledge that Spanish companies can provide. Meanwhile, Arianne Hernandez yesterday highlighted the commitment of the first institution for public diplomacy of the Spanish State to Africa with this  information project.

Through the triangulation Platform project, the European Union has designated the Canary Islands as a hub of information and economic connection between African countries and Latin America, covering a geographical arc that currently represents a trading volume of 1,500 million euros per year.
