Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
Today in Madrid, the Director General of Casa África, Luis Padrón, met with the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zurab Pololikashvili, as part of the preparations for the tenth Investour forum on tourism investment and business in Africa, which will be held on 24 January at Fitur in Madrid.
Ten years on, what began as a small meeting of Spanish institutions and companies to facilitate contact with the African tourism sector has become a benchmark event worldwide which each year surpasses the previous year’s figures, impact and results. In this tenth year, attendance at the event has already been confirmed by more than 20 ministers of tourism from African countries and more than 300 delegates have registered.
Investour is a forum organised by Casa África, UNWTO and FITUR that takes place in two parts: in the morning there is a session with round tables, which this year will focus on the importance of security and technological innovation in the African tourism sector, and in the afternoon there is a programme of B2B meetings, in which African companies and institutions seek contacts with institutions and companies from around the world to discuss tourism projects and explore possibilities for collaboration.
