Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
The South African Embassy in Spain wants to show Canary Islands entrepreneurs the potential for investment in their country. To do this, Casa África yesterday hosted, in collaboration with the Confederation of Businesses of the Canary Islands, PROEXCA (Canary Islands Government) and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Gran Canaria a conference on business opportunities in the country. Taking part in the initiative were Fikile Magubane, the South African ambassador in Spain, and Miguel A. Orjales, managing director of Global Development Abegglen & Crawford, who set out the example and experience of a Spanish company in the country. With this initiative, Casa Africa returns to host a monographic conference on an African country aimed at businessmen interested in internationalisation, as it did a few months ago with cases of Mauritania, Guinea Bissau and the Republic of Guinea.
The Republic of South Africa is the continent's leading economy, contributing with over 30% of its GDP and generates more than 50% of the electricity consumed in Africa. It also plays an important role in the development of the South African region and Pan-African institutions. The priority sectors identified for investment opportunities for Spanish companies are: renewable energy, transport, water treatment and associated infrastructures and installation services for broadband networks.
