Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
The West African Cities Network, whose principal aims are promoting regional planning projects, new technologies and good governance, has been set up today, 16th December, with the Declaration of Las Palmas Gran Canaria.
After signing the Protocol Constitution this morning at the Casas Consistoriales (Plaza de Santa Ana, Vegueta), by the Mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Juan José Cardona and his counterparts or representatives of Agadir and Casablanca (Morocco), Praia (Cape Verde), Nuakchot (Mauritania) and Dakar (Senegal), Casa África welcomed institutional, diplomatic, social representatives and economic agents to the official presentation in Gran Canaria.
The West African Cities Network was created with a clear mission, which is based on the principles of becoming a representative of local, autonomous and democratic corporations located in the cities of the Middle Atlantic and to promote democratic values together with common goals and interests through cooperation among the member cities and exchange knowledge and experiences within the wider international community.
