Festival La Mar de Músicas 2012

The festival from Cartagena La Mar de Músicas in 2012 turns to Africa and will have a special on the new sounds that the African continent is bringing out.

Also for the very first time, the La Mar de Músicas award will be given to a person who combines her artistic career with great work in defending human rights. In this first edition, the singer from Mali Oumou Sangaré, known as  "the African Queen", is the awardwinner.

Casa África will collaborate for the first time with this important festival providing a new edition of African Letters and a film cycle as parallel activities to La Mar de Letras and La Mar de Cine which the festival itself organises.

For this section of the La Mar de Músicas Festival, Casa África provides a cycle of African films that comes by the hand of Cinenómada, a programme created by AlTarab, organiser of the African Film Festival of Córdoba and sponsored by Casa África and whose aim is to take cinema from the neighbouring continent throughout Spain, with African works that are subtitled in Spanish.
