Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, one of the most internationally successful Nigerian writers, will speak with journalist Anna Guitartde about key themes of her work, such as the African diaspora, the question of race, feminism and the political situation in the United States.
The event is on 4 October at 6:30 pm in the CCCB, Barcelona’s Centre for Contemporary Culture, and the ticket price is € 3.
Chimamanda is a Nigerian writer, the author of several award-winning novels, who focuses on the need to use African references in the work coming out of the continent, to avoid the stories having only Western elements.
She received critical acclaim for her first novel, Purple Hibiscus, and also for her later works which include the books Half of a Yellow Sun, The Thing Around Your Neck and Americanah.
