Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
Inongo -vi- Makome, of the Batanga ethnic group, was born in Lobé (Kribi), a village on the Atlantic shores in the south of Cameroon. He studied in his home province and his secondary education was at the Saint Elizabeth Institute (Equatorial Guinea).
He then came to Spain and finished his baccalaureate in Valencia, and then started at the Faculty of Medicine. Attracted by literature, he went to Barcelona where he took part in various cultural projects, especially those projects promoting African culture. He is a columnist at the newspaper La Vanguardia.
He has written essays España y los negros africanos: la conquista del edén o del infierno (1990), La emigración negroafricana, tragedia y esperanza (2000) and Población negra en Europa: segunda generación, nacionales de ninguna nación (2006); children's stories Los reyes de Zookala, and Akono y Belinga (2007); and the novel Rebeldía (1997).
