Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
Aimed at families, teenagers and children, the África Vive Festival will take place once again in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria thanks to the collaboration with the África Vive Network of African Associations. Workshops of batik, storytelling, educational games, exhibits, dance, music and other experiences that will bring the African culture closer to the hand of its protagonists. The event will once again take place at Santa Catalina Park in the capital of Gran Canaria on Sunday, May 15th, starting at 10:00.
With a clear inter-cultural spirit, this event is a meeting of coexistence and mutual knowledge between Africans and the Canarian community. Twenty educational centres from various municipalities throughout the island and the Gran Canaria África Viva Network will participate in organising the event, which is open to NGOs and other cultural and social entities.
In addition, in this África Vive Festival, the HabitÁfrica-Cear Canarias Foundation and Casa África will collaborate in bringing African gastronomy to Canarian audiences. A group of African chefs residing in Gran Canaria will bring dishes, beverages and desserts to be discovered. The project, which includes a number of actions (sessions, courses, workshops, exhibits, cultural activities, preparation of educational materials, etc.), will be presented as a workshop.
