INVESTOUR 2017 The Eighth Forum for Tourism Investment and Business in Africa

On 19 January 2017, the eighth Forum for Tourism Investment and Business in Africa INVESTOUR will be held in Madrid. The event, organised within the framework of FITUR, is an annual platform which provides African companies with the opportunity to discuss new business and cooperation opportunities with businesses from the international tourism industry.

As in previous years, the initiative is promoted by the World Tourism Organization (WTO), FITUR and Casa África in order to promote sustainable tourism in Africa by providing a platform to facilitate dialogue about new business and cooperation opportunities between African tourism representatives and potential international investors.

Investour is structured in two sessions which, in 2017, will run simultaneously during the morning:

• technical seminars organised as roundtable discussions on tourism in Africa with the participation of senior representatives from the continent’s public and private tourism sector and
• Business to Business (B2B) meetings between African companies and institutions and potential partners and investors from other continents with a previously agreed agenda of appointments.

Both the Forum and the B2B meetings allow direct contact not only with those responsible for each project presented, but also with those responsible for the tourism ministries of the African countries attending the Fair. The event provides the ideal framework for tourism businesses which want to become more international, as it offers them an idea of ​​the wide range of possibilities existing on the African continent.
