Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
The International Office of the University of Girona (UdG) organizes the 6th Week of the Guest Country, which this time is Kenia. Thus, Casa África’s general director, Mr. José Segura, has been invited to participate in two moments of this 4-days program dedicated to this fascinating African country:
Mr. Segura will be at the inaugural session on the 24th presenting “Casa África, building bridges with the neighbouring continent”, and on the 26th to talk about the important figure of Wangari Muta Maathai, creator of the “Green belt” movement and the Nobel Peace Prize winner for her contributions to sustainable development, democracy, and peace.
The main objective of the UdG Internationalization Strategy #UdGlobal is to increase internationalization in the UdG in a significant and integral way, being the Guest Country Week one of the activities that promote it.
In this edition, the program offers activities that allow –from different approaches and in different modalities – to know a bit more about Kenia.
For more information, visit the event’s website and the program, which, among other activities, features a bibliographic exhibition of the Kenyan author Ngugi wa Thiong’o, an anti-colonialist writer and eternal Nobel candidate.
