Migrations on the southern borders of Europe

Casa África is hosting this exhibition, which contains 41 photographs by Juan Medina, documenting events on the southern border of Europe over the last 20 years.

These illustrate the drama of migratory movements in the Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla and the waters of the central Mediterranean.

During these 20 years, tens of thousands of people have risked their lives in an attempt to find a future for themselves and the families they left behind. The photo exhibition shows a series of graphic documents where visitors can bear witness to the various migrations which have occurred over the last few years.

Juan Medina has been a photojournalist for 30 years, and the aim of this exhibition is to document these migrations. Some of the photographs won awards at international level. They have been published by the mainstream media and shown in prestigious galleries.
