Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
The Cabildo de Tenerife welcomes at TEA, Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, a new edition of the International African Book, SILA,held alongside the tenth Annual Meeting of Editors in the Canary Islands.
The 2014 edition of SILA has the participation of writers and editors from countries like Liberia, Benin, Mozambique, France and Spain, who will be involved throughout the sessions scheduled for 14th and 15th November 2014 and whose entrance is free.
The programming of SILA 2014, held in TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, includes debates on topics such as libraries, public policies regarding books, new formats of bookstores, bibliodiversity, conclusions of the International Alliance of Independent Publishers ( IAIA), contemporary African literature and new generations of writers. Book presentations such as Zemi Kede, by Agnes Agboton will take place, including a dialogue between said author and Inma Luna (writer and journalist); and Africa beyond the topic by Amadou Ndoye, a veteran of SILA, sadly deceased, who was closely linked to the Canaries.
