Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.

The United Nations' World Food Programme (WFP) has recently started to establish its logistics base in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Whilst waiting for the Port Authority of Las Palmas to fit out an area for offices in the warehouses they have made available to the WFP, the manager of the new logistics base, the Spaniard Pablo Yuste, has provisionally installed himself in an office at Casa África's premises.
Casa África has been involved right from the start in the discussions with the Spanish Government and the WFP for its installation in Las Palmas of Gran Canaria. The public diplomacy institution has hosted meetings amongst WFP's territorial managers for Africa and has been the venue for technical meetings which have been held over the last few months.
Casa África's General Director, Santiago Martínez-Caro, stated that for Casa África it is "a great pride" to be able to contribute in facilitating the implementation of the WFP logistics base, which as he pointed out, "opens up a world of opportunities for the Canary Islands" and states "the reality" that the Archipelago "consolidates its strategic, logistical and solidarity platform" between Europe, Africa and America. Martínez-Caro also pointed out the consensus and collaboration that there has been between all the institutions and administrations involved, (the city of Las Palmas of Gran Canaria, Puerto de la Luz, the Canary Islands Government and the Spanish Government) in helping WFP start up its sixth logistics base in the world.
