Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
For the second consecutive year, and due to the large amount of interest from participants in the previous edition, this project is being organised for inter-cultural awareness at primary and secondary educational centres in Gran Canaria during several months.
Students and teachers will have the opportunity to learn about Africa and some of its various communities and cultures through its protagonists. Thanks to the collaboration of the Federation of African Associations in the Canary Islands (FAAC), the project includes a training course in socio-cultural animation to Africans living on the island who will then transfer this cultural wealth through workshops (dance, music, theatre) and educational games. These workshops will also be an opportunity to prepare for the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria África Vive Festival on May 15th, in which the educational community, African groups and its families will participate.
The main objective is to increase awareness in the educational community of interest and knowledge about Africa, introducing it in the Áfriva Vive activities and especially in the África Vive Festival, which will take place on May 15th. Additionally, the aim is to link African artistic and cultural resources in increasing awareness within the educational community.
