The Digital Society and Library Science Meetings have been held since 2008 with the aim of fostering collaborative synergies and invite us to reflect on topics of interest in these fields and to share pioneering initiatives that inspire us.
Social transformation focuses our work to fight against the digital divide and to face technological changes with the least possible disruptive impact. For this reason, these meetings contribute to joining forces so that digital innovation processes offer an inclusive and integrating reality.
We are committed to social integration, interculturality, inclusive social development, the promotion of reading and the exchange of knowledge that enriches us professionally and personally to improve our work and our social actions. Moreover, getting to know what is being done on the African continent in these sectors is an inseparable part of these meetings. Our objectives are to promote mutual knowledge, encourage contact networks and open lines of collaboration with African countries.
We want to generate a forum in which the different experts motivate us to improve the services we offer to citizens, both from libraries or documentation centres and from the media, public institutions or companies; to keep us updated on trends in the technological field; to improve our online strategies and to fight against negative stereotypes and an overly biased and homogeneous image of the African continent.
These meetings, now in a hybrid format, are an effective formula for weaving cooperation networks between the different actors in communication, information and the dissemination of knowledge.
We seek to promote a less disruptive and more humanised digital transformation that will make us a better, more plural and more inclusive society.
To this end, we have the voices of African and Spanish experts to help us improve our digital skills and strategies and our training as agents of digital transformation. The day will include working tables, training workshops and debates.
This year, one round table will focus on innovation and digital transformation and the other on libraries of the future, highlighting trends and best practices in these areas. In the afternoon, a workshop will be held on the dissemination of activities.
The meeting will be held in the morning and afternoon.
In the morning there will be two round tables:
In the afternoon there will be a workshop and a conference:
